Software-based predictive emission monitoring systems (PEMS) monitor pollutants such as NOx, SO2, CO, HC and/or reference variables such as oxygen (O2) continuously and in real-time. PEMS is an innovative and cost-effective approach to continuous monitoring of emission sources as an alternative to continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS). 
  
A predictive emission monitoring system doesn’t measure emissions directly, it instead uses a developed model to predict emissions based on historical and real-time process and plant operation data. 
  
PEMS is also a diagnostic tool to lower emissions as it essentially teaches plant operators about the correlation between plant operation and emission levels. 

Ektimo supply PEMS compliant with USEPA Performance Specification 16 (PS-16) and we can provide all the associated services for PEMS model development and importantly, PEMS verification for Australian and international EPA’s.  

Ektimo is NATA accredited to perform the initial (commissioning) and ongoing QA/QC for these PEMS systems including Relative Accuracy Audits (RAA’s) and Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA’s).
